Cornwall Film Festival 2017: Discovery

The Cornwall Film Festival again delivered another excellent festival and broader extended programme of events over the year. 2017 has seen a strengthened board of Trustees who have renewed the charity's aims around three priority areas for investment Expand Audience Choice; Develop Education and Learning and Fostering Sector Development with further focus on extending our reach and providing the region with a rich array of culturally and educationally significant events and screenings.

The 2017 flagship festival events see a popular return to The Poly in Falmouth with the International short programme attracting a rich and diverse selection of work.  We are delighted to see that the Local short programme of home grown talent has expanded in size and quality and the features programme has four productions from Cornwall.

In a challenging financial landscape the charity as an organisation has expanded its board of Trustees and delivery team, providing year round jobs and opportunities for more people from Cornwall. We have a thriving volunteers group and internships alumni.  New creative digital media project for young people and a major new ESF skills programme.  We are also delighted to welcome BAFTA masterclasses to Cornwall for the first time and screen the latest production from the BFI Cornwall Film Academy.

The festival team would like to thank Poly CEO and CFF Trustee, Judith Hann, Nicholas Heartland and all of The Poly staff. We’d also like to give a special thank our festival ambassadors Ben Howe and Laura Giles and all our Board of Trustees, Sarah Sanderson,  Paul Wyatt, Phil Shingler, John Scarlett Davis, Eike Cummings , Amanda White, Matt Bond,  Phillipa Giles & Richard Maule for their tireless encouragement and support.

We hope you will enjoy the 2017 festival!
